Art covers Tower of London repair
A giant work of art has been unveiled to cover part of the Tower of London while conservation work is carried out.
The 90ft (27m) high work by Rydal Hanbury covers scaffolding on the entire east side of the White Tower and depicts the history of the building.
The 1,000-year-old tower walls will be cleaned during the �2m project, the largest conservation to take place at the tower, due for completion by 2011.
Damage caused by age, weathering and corrosion will also be repaired.
London artist Hanbury won a competition to decorate the tower.
Her artwork includes images of ravens and Princes Edward V and his brother Richard Duke of York, widely believed to have been murdered in the tower in the 15th Century. .
